What people mean by trading robot
Search for a trading robot, a forex robot, or a forex trading bot and you get the same idea: software that opens and closes trades without you clicking every order. On MetaTrader that file is an Expert Advisor. MT4 robots are usually .ex4 files. MT5 robots are .ex5 files. You attach the robot to a chart on your own broker account.
EA Trade does not sell a secret robot or promise results. You bring the robot you already trust, or one you pick from the Mentor MarketPlace. The app is how you keep that robot running and how you check it from Android, iPhone, or a desktop browser.
Why a forex trading bot dies on a phone or a laptop
MetaTrader’s mobile apps can watch a chart. They do not run Expert Advisors. A laptop does, until it sleeps, loses power, or drops the internet. A forex robot only trades while the terminal is open and connected. That is the gap hosting is for: the terminal stays up, and the phone is only the remote.
- 24/7 hosting, so the robot does not depend on your phone.
- MT4 and MT5, on the broker account you already use.
- One-time app access at R550. Your broker and your robot stay yours.
How you run it
Download EA Trade, sign in, and connect the account the robot should trade. Install on iPhone or PC and Mac if you want the app on your home screen. From there you start and stop the robot and see that it is still attached. When the phone locks, hosting keeps the terminal online.
Trading with a robot is still trading. A forex robot can lose money, widen a drawdown, or behave differently live than it did in a test. Read the rules of any robot before you leave it on a live account.
